Cast Iron Tea Pot
Yes, a tea pot. I no longer have a coffee maker or a Keurig. I love having simple, well made appliances in my kitchen. And dual purpose too.
COFFEE GRINDER
This is an absolute essential. For any coffee nut or purist. You can either get an electric or manual coffee grinder. I eventually want a manual one for my kitchen.
POUR OVER COFFEE MAKER
What a game changer. It’s so easy to clean since it uses an aluminum filter not the disposable coffee filters. That is one less thing to add on my grocery list.
COFFEE STORAGE CANISTER.
A great place to store your freshly ground coffee beans.
COFFEE BEANS
How can I talk about making coffee without mentioning the coffee itself? I usually buy whole coffee beans and grind them. In your kitchen, do whatever works for you. Buy beans, buy ground coffee. As long as there is coffee.
Sometimes I’ll buy ground vanilla coffee if that is what I am craving. The smell is incredible. Here is one of my favorite brands to buy!
COFFEE MUGS
Come up with a theme that fits your kitchen design. Start a collection, or stick to a color you like.
BREWING A DELICIOUS CUP
Always have coffee brewing in your kitchen. Brew coffee shop quality with these steps:
- Boil water in the cast iron tea pot.
- Grind coffee beans in the coffee grinder.
- Scoop out two scoops of ground coffee into coffee pour-over.
- When the water is boiling, pour it over the coffee grounds.
- Take out the strainer and pour a cup of coffee!

This is such a good list of essentials! I have all of them except the pour-over. I have a French press instead. But I do want to get one soon!

Yum! We love coffee over here, and although we still have our regular coffee maker, my husband loves to make “cowboy” style coffee in an enamelware coffee pot! Thanks for sharing your essentials!
